Love is so beautiful. I’ve known Steve for a few years now as he’s a producer in LA and we’ve got to work together on a number of shoot. Paul works in the business as well providing sets with sorely needed sustainability practices. Seeing them together gives me the warmest feeling every time as you can just feel the love and respect they have for each other. Not only are they both the handsomest, they are a powerhouse together in business and politics. I love being around them. When Steve reached out to me to ask if I would capture their small wedding ceremony in the backyard of their Hollywood home, I was so thrilled. Not only would I be able to witness their union, I’d be able to document it. One of the elements I love about wedding is the care and thought put into every little detail. Steve handmade the boutonnieres and their matching salmon colored Esquivel boots were monogramed with their initials and wedding date just to name a couple. With a few of their closets friends and family as witnesses, Steve’s brother officiated beautifully. I didn’t originally set out to photograph weddings, but I sure have fallen in love with capturing them as they continue to present themselves. These big life moments carry such love and meaning and it’s those human experiences that makes this work meaningful.

adventures with a six year old
While traveling with this one has in fact gotten a little easier, its still hard. With hours on the road comes lots of whining. Getting him to hike to certain distant spots requires discussion and bribery. Cookies and candy become my friends. And the schlep is real as it's mostly left to me to get the three huge bags of toys from the car to the hotel room each move (along with the actual luggage of necessities). He has not a clue what goes into these adventures. I'm one tired mama each day, but you know what's harder? Staying home.
